Motovýlety prepared the trip to VHEELS AND GRIL Pskov, Hill of Crosses, Mazury and Wolf’s Lair
Start was from Prague on 24.7.2019, then accelerated transfer to Suwalki on the border of Poland and Lithuania. On the way, our friend Peter joined us and in Suwalki 2 friends from Slovakia, Kingo and Miloš. In the morning we set off to Pskov across Lithuania, Latvia and in Estonia we crossed the border to Russia. A little delay at the border reminded us of the nonsense of the previous regimes, but we were in Pskov at 1 AM. Our friends managed to wait for us and surprised us with a warm welcome and with snacks and refreshments. In the morning, they prepared a trip to Pskov lake, which is connected connected with Teplé lake and with the larger Čudské lake, which is the fourth largest lake in Europe and its bigger part is in Estonia. By boat we stopped at Pskov Lake where there are three beautiful islands, which are written about in the old books Talab. The Talab Islands are indeed one of the few inhabited islands in Russia. On Zalita island is the church of st. Nicholas, where for over 40 years, the worldly famous father Nikolai Guryanov served as the abbot, who became the prototype hero of the film “Island” – https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851577/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1. Island Belov is a true wildlife paradise, there is a wide variety of birds and those already in the red book.
After our return, we were entertained and there was a program prepared for us. Saturday was for grilling, eating and drinking. In the evening distinctive music by local an artist and then our biker music again. On Sunday began the journey back.
We set off around noon after a busy evening. We headed for the city of Biržai in Lithuania, the journey was quite difficult but interesting. In the morning, a member of HD Lithuania took us around and we continued to the Hill of Crosses near the town of Siauliai, a place of the energy of the wishes and desires of people. There are millions of small and large crosses from all around the world. We spent the night in Goldap. In the morning awaited us a journey to the Masurian Lakes. We ended the day by visiting the Wolf’s Lair near the city of Ketrzyn. Also an unusual experience and awareness of the uselessness of wars and violence.
We spent the night in a charming Masurian hotel for a ridiculous price in Riciane-Nida. In the morning a fast transfer home.
